NL – ‘V St’ is een voorbeeld van een werk waarin Dorner zijn hybride ‘lak-plus-olieverf’-techniek gebruikte. Op een gelakt oppervlak zijn finale strepen olieverf gezet. Door verfstreken met een andere tactiliteit toe te voegen, nam de kunstenaar de nadruk van het gelakte oppervlak weg. Tegenstellingen zijn opgeheven. Daardoor heeft het schilderij een complexe identiteit: het belichaamt tegelijk risico en harmonie.

De beeldelementen en de cryptische titel bevatten een semantisch potentieel dat zichzelf nooit ten volle prijsgeeft. Structureel bevestigen de beeldelementen het picturale vlak en ontkennen ze illusionistische diepte. Ze onderhouden een dubbelzinnig spel tussen onmiddellijkheid en tijdsduur, tussen vlakheid en diepte, stilstand en beweging, repetitie en verandering. ENG - V St is a work in which Dorner employed his hybrid ‘lacquer-plus-oil-paint’ technique, whereby he applied a layer of oil paint to a lacquered surface. By painting in a medium with a different texture to the support, the artist reduces the emphasis on the painted surface. Contrasts are heightened. The painting thus acquires a complex identity: it embodies both risk and harmony.

The pictorial elements and the cryptic title have a semantic potential that is never fully disclosed. Visual elements confirm the structure of the pictorial plane but deny illusionistic depth. An ambiguous interplay arises between immediacy and temporality, between flatness and depth, stillness and movement, repetition and change. The visual elements organise the pictorial field in a rhythmic cadence. This all serves to reinforce the connecting, process-oriented and generative character of Dorner’s oeuvre.

FR – « V St » est un exemple d'œuvre dans laquelle Dorner a utilisé sa technique hybride « laque plus peinture à l'huile ». Les derniers coups de peinture à l'huile ont été appliqués sur une surface laquée. En ajoutant des touches de peinture d'une tactilité différente, l'artiste a mis l'accent sur la surface laquée. Les oppositions ont été supprimées. En conséquence, le tableau a une identité complexe : il incarne à la fois le risque et l'harmonie.

Les éléments figuratifs et le titre énigmatique contiennent un potentiel sémantique qui ne se révèle jamais complètement.
