NL – ‘Stripping Girls - Jan Hoet danst op de tafel’ (2000-’09) maakte Marlene Dumas naar aanleiding van het 10-jarige bestaan van S.M.A.K. De titel is een directe verwijzing naar de tentoonstelling ‘Strippinggirls’ met werk van Dumas zelf en Anton Corbijn, die in 2000 in het museum plaatsvond. Dit werk op papier werd door de kunstenaar aan het museum geschonken in aansluiting op haar vroegere schenking van een reeks portretten van Jan Hoet, oprichter en voormalig artistiek directeur van S.M.A.K., die ze in 1992 maakte in de context van Documenta IX, een van de belangrijkste tentoonstellingen die door Hoet werd gecureerd.
ENG – ‘Stripping Girls - Jan Hoet danst op de tafel' (2000-'09) was made by Marlene Dumas on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of S.M.A.K. The title is a direct reference to the exhibition 'Strippinggirls', which included work by Dumas herself and Anton Corbijn in the museum in 2000. This work on paper was donated to the museum by the artist following her earlier donation of a series of portraits of Jan Hoet, founder and former artistic director of S.M.A.K., which she made in 1992 in the context of Documenta IX, one of the most important exhibitions curated by Hoet.
FR – ‘Stripping Girls - Jan Hoet danst op de tafel' (2000-'09) a été réalisée par Marlene Dumas à l'occasion du 10e anniversaire du S.M.A.K. Le titre réfère directement à l'exposition 'Strippinggirls', qui comprenait des œuvres de Dumas elle-même et d'Anton Corbijn au musée en 2000. Cette œuvre sur papier a été offerte au musée par l'artiste à la suite d'une donation antérieure d'une série de portraits de Jan Hoet, fondateur et ancien directeur artistique du S.M.A.K., qu'elle avait réalisée en 1992 dans le cadre de Documenta IX, l'une des plus importantes expositions dont Hoet était le commissaire.
