NL - Deze video is de registratie van de actie ‘Celtic+ ~~~~’ die op 6 april 1971 in Bazel plaatsvond. Op muziek van Henning Christiansen, gebracht door het Scottish Symphony, voerde Beuys een serie rituele handelingen uit. Warmte en koude werden in verband gebracht met de wil en het verstand, maar ook met ongevormde energie en verstarde materie. Dit waren voor Beuys belangrijke principes in de voortdurende bewegingsstroom waaraan kunst en leven onderhevig zijn.
ENG – This video is the registration of the performance ‘Celtic+ ~~~~’ that took place in Basel on April 6, 1971, in which Beuys enacted a series of ritual actions to music by Henning Christiansen, performed by the Scottish Symphony. Heat and cold were associated with the will and the intellect, but also with unformed energy and solid matter. For Beuys, these were important principles in the continuous flow of art and life.
FR – Cette vidéo enregistre la performance ‘Celtic+ ~~~~’ que donna Beuys le 6 avril 1971 à Bâle. Sur une musique d’Henning Christiansen interprétée par le Scottish Symphony, Beuys se livra à une série de gestes rituels. Le chaud et le froid étaient mis en relation avec la volonté et l’intelligence, mais aussi avec une énergie détournée et une matière fossilisée. C’étaient pour Beuys des principes majeurs du flux de mouvement continu auquel sont soumis l’art et la vie.
